133ORDINANCE NO. 133 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION TO DETERMSNE THE WISHES OF THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, WITH REFERENCE TO THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON SUNDAY. rA, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEIPATER, FLOPIDA �,,, WHEREAS, it is now legal to sell beer, either by the package or for consumption on the premises, during certain hours on Sunday, and to sell by the package other alcoholic beverages, including wine, for consumption off the premises where sold on Sunday, and WHEREAS, petitions have been filed with the City Council of the City of Edgewater objecting to the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edgewater desires to know the wishes of the voters in the City of Edgewater concerning the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday, NOW THEREFORE t Section 1: A special election shall be held on Tuesday, October 2, 1956, between the hours of 7:00 A. M. and 7:00 P. M., in the City of Edgewater at the Community Center, to determine the wishes of the people of the City of Edgewater for the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday. Section 2: All registered voters of the City of Edgewater shall be eligible to vote in said election. The registration books for said election shall close at 6:oo P. M. on September 24, 1956. Section 9: The question to be voted on shall be as follows: FOR AGAINST SUNDAY SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, INCLUDING BEER AND WINE and said question shall be on the voting machines used. Section 4: No person shall be eligible to vote in said election who is not registered to vote on the registration books of the City of Edgewater from the zone in which he or she may reside. - 1 - Section 5: All general laws of the State of Florida or ordinances of the City of Edgewater concerning absentee ballots and concerning the conduct of elections, where not inconsistent with this ordinance, shall apply thereto. Section 9: This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. Section 10: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same are, hereby repealed. The above Ordinance was readin full and passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting on the loth day of September, A. D. 1956. Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the reouire— ment of reading said Ordinance upon second reading was w4ived, and the Ordinance was ordered put upon final passage. Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 10th day of September, A.
