122ORDINANCE NO. 122 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE RATES FOR WATER CONSUMED FROM THE WATER SUPPLY TREATMENT AND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER. BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF TIE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA That the following rate schedule be, and the same is he�♦r adopted to provide for rates to be charged for water consumed from the water supply treatment and distribution system of the City of Edgewater, Florida: Meters: A meter shall be installed in the water connection to each building or outlet (except fire hydrants), whether public or pri- vate. Bills: Bills for water shall be rendered monthly. If any bill shall not be paid within ten days following the original date of billing, an additional charge of ten per cent of the amount of such bill shall be added thereto. If any bill shall not be paid within thirty days from the original date of billing, service shall be discontinued. In the event that service is discontinued for non-payment of bills, the premises shall be disconnected from the water works system of the City. Minimum Monthly Bill: Each monthly bill shall be rendered for an amount not less than $2.50, which will allow the use of 2,000 gallons of water per month. Meter Rate: The following meter rate shall be applicable to all retail quantities of water in excess of that allowed under the minimum bill as shown by monthly meter readings to have been delivered: Monthly Usage (gale.) Rate Over 2000 $0.35 per 1000 gallons or portion thereof Fire Protection Charge.: The City shall pay not less than $50.00 per year per hydrant to the credit of the water utility for public fire protection service. Minimum Deposits: The following minimum deposit shall be required for each meter, which deposit will bear no interest and will remain with the water utility as long as the consumer continues to take water: Meter Size Minimum Deposit 3/4" 10.00 10 17.50 1 ,in 25.00 2" 35.00 3" 50.00 4" 100.00 611 200.00 Connection Charge: There shall be no charge for any connection made to the system if such connection is made at the same time as the construction of distribution mains at the location of the connection. I£, however, any connection is required after construction of the dis- tribution mains at the location of the connection, then the City will provide materials and labor to bring the service line to the owner's property line, and the following minimum connection charge shall apply: Minimum Meter Size Connection Charge 3/4" "a 4o.00 1° 45.00 1" 50.00 2" 75.00 3" 100.00 411 150.00 60 250.00 The actual connection charge may be greater than said minimum charge, if the actual cost to the City of Edgewater Is greater than the charges set forth. Re -Connection Charge: There shall be a charge of $10.00 for resetting any meter which shall have been removed by the City. The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting on the 16th day of July, A. D. 1956. Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the require- ment of reading said Ordinance upon second reading was waived, and the Ordinance was put upon final passage. Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 16th day of July, A.
