AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SEIZURE OF ANY
VEHICLE, VESSEL, OR OTHER CCNVEYANCE USED
WIT IN THE CORPORATE LIb�TS OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OR REMOVAL
OF, OR FOR THE DEPOSIT OR CONCEALMENT OF ANY
STILL AND STILLING APPARATUS OR RAW MATERIAL
USED II. THE MANUFACTURE OF ILLICIT AND ILLEG-
AL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR LIQUORS, AND PRO-
VIDING FOR THE FORFEITURE THEREFOR UNDER THE
GENERAL STATE LAN, :BAKING THE SAME UNLAWFUL ADOPTED
AND PROVIDING PENALTIES THEREFOR. iL7�
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1: Any vehicle, vessel, aircraft, or any animal used In the
transportation or removal of, or for the deposit or concealment of, any
Illicit liquor still or stilling apparatus, or any mash, wlrt, wash, or
other fermented liquids capable of being distilled or manufactured into
an alcoholic beverage containing more than 7% of alcohol by weight, or
any alcoholic beverage known and referred to as "moonshine whiskey",
where seized by a municipal police officer within the corporate limits of
the City of Edgewater, shall be forfeited as provided for by the general
State Law, and all sums received therefrom shall go into the general
operating fund of the City.
Section 2: It is unlawful in the City of Edgewater for any person to
deposit or conceal any illicit liquor still or stilling apparatus, or any
mash, wart, wash, or other fermented liquids capable of being distilled or
manufactured into an alcoholic beverage containing more than 1% of alcohol
by weight, or any alcoholic beverage known and referred to as °moonshine
whiskey", or have in his nossession any of the same, and any person violat-
ing any of the provisions of this section shall be subject to a fine not
exceeding $250.00 for each violation, or imprisonment not exceeding 60 days.
Section 9: No person shall be prosecuted under the provisions of Section 2
where the same is not a violation of the laws of the State of Florida.
Section 4: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
The above Ordinance was read in full and passed by the vote of the City
Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular meeting on the.
12th dey of March, A.D. 1956.
Upon motion duly :Wade, seconded and unanimously carried the reouirement of
reading said Ordinance upon second reading was waived, and the Ordinance was
ordered put upon final passage.
Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
at a regular meeting of said Council held on t ? 1.2th day of March, A.D.
1956, and approved as provided by law, the vote of said Council on roll
call being as follows:
