72ORDIFANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING A COUNCILMAN IMF ZONE #4 TO FILL THE VACANCY CREATED BY A RESIGNATION AND PROVIDING FOR THE LENGTH OF TERM OF OFFICE AND FOR �n�I COMPENSATION FOR SERVICES. ARI TES WHEREAS, R. Lee Freeman's resignation as Councilman of Zone #4 has this date been accepted, thereby creating a vacancy in the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, HE IT ENACTED B`_' THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1: That Howard B. Ranken be and he is hereby designated and appointed Councilman for Zone #4 for the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, with full power and authority to do and perform all of the duties of said office as fixed and defined by the Charter and Ordinances of said City and the laws of the State of Florida, to serve as such until the special election of November 2, 1954; that the said Howard B. Ranken shall be paid according to the Charter of said City for his services, said appointment being effective as of the 13th day of September, A. D. 1954. Section 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. The above ordinance was read in full and passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting held on the 13th day of September, A. D. 1954. Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried the requirement of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived, and !she ordinance was ordered put upon final passage.
