UNFIT FOOD. ENFORCE:= OF RULES AND REGULATIONS BY THE HEALTH
OFFICER IN TIE M.,'IN1STRATION OF THIS ACT. PENALTY FOR VIOLATION
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN COIP'LICT F1EIMITITH.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF TIT✓ CITY OF EDG31ATER, FLORIDA.
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any Person to offer for
sale or to sell for use as human food within the limits of the City of
Edgewater, F1orAda, the meat or meat food products of any animal unless
the meat or meat food products bear the official impress tag or mark of
the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Animal Industry, of the
official impress tag or mark of the Livestock Board of the State of
Florida, showing the inspection and approval by any one of these depart—
ments of suchmat or meat food products for human food.
SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to have, keep,
sell, or expose for sale or with intent to sell for use as human food
within the limits of the City of Edgewater, Florida, the meat or meat
food products manufactured inihole or in part from the meat of any
animal unless said meat or meat food products bear the official impress
tag or mark of inspection of either the U. S. Department of Agriculture.
Bureau of Animal Industry, or the Livestock Board of the State of Florida,
showing the inspection and approval by any one of these department of
such meat and meat food products for human food.
SECTION 3. It shall be the duty of the Healtji Officer, or his
duly qualified assistants, to make regular inspections of all establish—
ments preparing and handling meat or meat food products for human
consumption. It shall also be the duty of the Health Officer to seize
condemn and destroy any meat or meat food products un:eit for human
consumption or in direct violation of any of the provisions of this act.
SECTION 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of
this Ordinance shall, upon conviction before the Municipal Court, be
punished by a fine of not more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or
be imprisioned not exceeding Sixty(60) days, and each dayls failure to
comply with the provisions of this Ordinance and the violation of the
terms thereof shall constitute a distinct and separate offense and be
punishable as such.
MOTION 5. That all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in
conflict with the terms of this Ordinance, are hereby repealed, but
all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances regulating the sale of meat or
meat food products and relating to health and sanitation and kindred
subjects and not in conflict herewith are retained in full force and
effect and shall be deemed as cumulative of this Ordinance.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage
and approval by the Mayor.
This Ordinance was read a first time in full and passed by the unanimous
vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular
meeting on the 22nd day of July 1953.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried the rer•uirement of reading
said Ordinance upon second reading was waived, and the Ordinance was or-
dared-p7 t upon final passage.
Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florid-=ry,
at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 22nd day of July A. D.
1953 and approved as provided by law, the vote of said Council on roll
