AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE OF
RULES AND R.EQUIHEMENTS OF TILE NATIONAL BOARD OF FIRE
UNDERARITERS .FOR THE INSTALLATION OF ELECTRIC MIRING
AND APPARATUS ACID PROVIDING THE PENALTIES FOR THE VIO-
LATION THEREOF AND FURTEER PROVIDING INSPECTION FEES.
BE IT ENACTED 13Y THE PEOPLE OF THE.01TY OF. EDGEWATER., FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: nll electrical construction, all material and all appliances
used in connection with electrical work and the operation of electrical appara-
tus in the City of Edgewater, Florida shall be in conformity to the rules and
regulations set down in what is known as the National Electrical Code of Rules
and Requirements of the National Board of Fire Underwriters for the Installa-
tion of Miring and Apparatus as the same are now established or as the same may
hereafter be established from time to time, and the said rules and regulations
are hereby adopted and approved and made a part of this ordinance.
SECTION 2: There shall be charged and collected by the City Clerk in-
spection fees as follows:
For addition or chan;e of 1 to 3 outlets $ .50
Concealed work to outlets, including fixtures,
1 to 50 outlets (two connections) 1.50
Over 50 outlets, additional rate in proportion.
Arc lights, 1 to 10 lights 1.00
Are lights, 11 to 20 lights 2.00
Arc lights, 21 lights and over 3.00
Open work, incandescent lights and fan fixtures
included at same rates as concealed work.
Motors, up to 3 h.p. 1.00
Motors, 3 h.p, and over 2.00
Isolated plants, charge according to this
schedule and add one dollar for generator.
Additional inspection on account of imperfect m rk-
manship or material shall be pain. by the electrical con-
tractor, additional to the above schedule and in proportion
thereto, and any further permits shall be withheld from
such contractor until such additional fees an paid.
SECTION 3: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provi-
sions of this ordinance shall upon conviction be punished by a fine not ex -
two hundred
ceeding and fifty Dollars (4?50.00 ) or by imprisonment not ex-
ceeding sixty days ( 60) or by both such fine and imprisonment in the
discretion of the Municipal Judge. -

SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with be, and the same are, hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage
and approval by the Mayor.
The above ordinance was read in full and passed by the vote of the City
Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting on the 28th
day of May, A. D. 1952.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried the requirement
of reading said ordinance upon second reading was waived, and the ordinance
was ordered put upon final passage.
Passed by the vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida
at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 28th day of May, A. D. 1952,
and approved as provided by Law, the vote of said Council on roll call being
as follows:
