Proclamation 1962-26 - Special Election - 11-06-1962A PROCLAMATION PROVIDING FOR THE CALLING
AND THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL ELECTION OF
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY,
FLORIDA
WHEREAS, under the legislative Charter of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, the City Council has full power to provide regulations for
the holding of elections in the City of Edgewater, Florida; and,
WHEREAS, a special election is required to be held in the year
1962 for the purpose of electing a Councilman from Zone 4 to serve
on the governing body of the City of Edgewater, Florida, for the
unexpired term from the first Wednesday after the First Monday in
November, 1962.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the first Tuesday after the first Monday in
November, 1962, to -wit, November 6, 1962, be and the same hereby is
fixed as special Election Day in the City of Edgewater, Florida, for
the purpose of holding an election to designate a Councilman from
Zone 4 to serve on the governing body of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, for the unexpired term from the first Wednesday after the
first Monday in November, A.D. 1962, to -wit, November 7, 1962, and
a special election is hereby called on November 6, 1962 in the City
of Edgewater, Florida, for said purpose, and the Clerk hereby is
authorized and directed to post two copies of the notice of said
election in the most conspicuous and public places in the City of Edgewater,
Florida, one of which shall be the bulletin board in the City Hall
of said City.
The above and foregoing Proclamation was introduced at the
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
held October 1, 1962, said Proclamation being introduced by Council-
man=alateer who moved its adoption, which said motion was
seconded by Councilman Si Le^ and carried, the vote of said
Council being as follows:
