51RESCOLUTION NO. 51 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, ENTITLED: A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR RAMPS ON ALL PUBLSC I#JILDINGS. WHEREAS, the Volusia County Women*s Council of the Florida Association of Realtors has heretofore recommended to the City of Edgewater that any public buildings erected should be designed to aid the handicapped and emphasize elimination of architectural barriers, making buildings and facilities accessible to and usable by the physically handicapped, and WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater favors said program, NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CO1-4ffSSION OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Edgewater goes on record as favoring any new public buildings that are erected to be provided with ramps in order to be more useful to the physically handicapped, who may have difficulty with steps. Section 2. The City of Edgewater goes on record that in all of its public buildings erected after this date, it will provide ramps. Section 3. The City Commission of the City of Edgewater recommends that all building :odds concerning public buildings be amended to require the installation of ramps. Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and all acts contrary hereto be and the same are hereby repealed. The above and foregoing resolution was presented by Councilman Cairnie who moved its adoption; said motion being seconded by Councilman Ridgdill .
