Declaring Council Duly & Legally Organized - 11-09-1955RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA,
DULY AND LEGALLY ORGANIZED UNDER THE PROVISIONS
OF THE LAW APPLICABLE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Laws of the State of Florida, and
the Ordinances of the City of Edgewater, Florida, a Mayor and
four Councilmen were duly elected as provided by Law for the term
of two years, at the Regular Election held in said City on Tuesday,
November 8th, 1955, George 0. Sedgwick , being elected Mayor for
a term of two years, and David L. Washburn , Raymond T. Friedley,
Herman John , Bernard Farrell , being elected for a term
of two years, AND WHEREAS,George 0. Sedgwick , David L. Washburn ,
Raymond T. Friedley, Herman John , Bernard Farrell , have
duly taken and subscribed the Oath of Office and has filed same in
the office of the City Clerk of said City, and has done and performed
all other requisites for the holding of said office,
AND WHEREAS, the said City Council and the new members thereof have
performed all of their duties necdssary for the legal creation of
said Council for the ensuing years, NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDG&IATER, FLORIDA:
That the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, consists of
the following five members,George 0. Sedgwick, Mayor„ David L. Washburn
,Councilman Raymond T. Friedley, Councilman Herman John,
Councilman , Bernard Farrell Councilman, and
the said Council is hereby declared to be legally and regularly con-
stituted and organized as such, to function and perform its duties under
and by virtue of the provisions of Law of the Sate of Florida, and
Charter and Ordinances of said City, pertaining thereto, for and during
their respective terms of office, and the said City Council be and it is
hereby declared to be and consists of the above named Mayor and Council-
men.
It was moved that the above and foregoing Resolution introduced by
Councilman Washburn andmoved by him accordingly be adopted which
motion was duly seconded by Councilman John and upon a Roll
Call vote being taken the said Resolution was duly declared adopted
at the Official Organization meeting of said Council held on the 9th
day of November, A.D. 1955. The vote of said Council being as follows:
