Declaring Results - Regular Election - 11-04-1953RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE REGULAR ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLU91A COUNTY, FLORIDA, ON THE 3rd DAY OF NOVEMBER, A.D. 1953 AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION TO THE CITY OFFICERS CHOSEN AT SAID ELECTION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY,OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That from the canvass of the returns, it is hereby de- clared that the result of the Regular Election held in the City of Edgewater, Florida, on November 3rd, 1953, is as follows:. FOR MAYOR AT LARGE FOR A TERM OF TWO YEARS: John H. Gibbs received 239 votes George E. Lear received 241 votes SECTION 2. That from the canvass of the returns, it is hereby declared that the result of the Regular Election held in the City of Edgewater, Florida, on November 3rd, 1953, is as follows: - FOR COUNCILMAN TO SERVE FOR A TERM OF TWO YEARS: District #1 Percy Loveland received 73 votes Frank Smith received 54 votes District #2 Miles Diooe Crawford Shaeffer District #3 A. Hussey George Sedgwick District #4 R. Lee Freeman received 28, votes received 7_ votes received 74 votes received 68 votes received 103 votes SECTION 3. That the City Council of said City does hereby declare that 'g E. _ received the highest number of votes cast for the orrice o .ayor for a term of two years, and thatPercy NLoveland District #1,Cr rd C. Lee Freeman strict #4 received the T g esi h t number of votes cast for the office of City Councilmen for a term of two years, and is hereby declared the regularly elected Mayor and Councilmen of said City to serve for a term of two years, or until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
