Declaring Nominees Mayor & Council - Regular Election 10-14-19531.QK k1j*(47J A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NOMINEES FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR AND CITY COUNCILMEN OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA TO BE ELECTED AT THE REGULAR CITY ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVE BER 3, 1953 AND PROVIDING FOR THE PREPARATION AND PRINTING OF BALLOTS FOR SAID ELECTION. WHEREAS, petitions have been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Edge- water, Florida to have the names of John H. Gibbs and George E. Isar placed on the ballot at the regular city election to be held on November 3, 1953 for the office of Mayor of the City of Edgewater, Florida, and WHEREAS, petitions have been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Edge- water, Florida to have the names of Frank M. Smith and Percy N. Loveland placed on the ballot at the regular city election to be held on November 3, 1953 for the office of City Councilmen from Voting District 1 of the City of Edgewater, Florida, and WHEREAS, petitions have been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Edge- water, Florida to have the names of Miles W. Dippery and Crawford C. Shaeffer placed on the ballot at the regular city election to be held on November 3, 1953 for the office of City Councilmen from Voting District 2 of the City of Edgewater, Florida, and WHEREAS, petitions have been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Edge- water, Florida to have the names of A. Hussey and George 0. Sedgwick placed on the ballot at the regular city election to be held on November 3, 1953 for the office of City Councilmen from Voting District 3 of the City of Edgewater, Florida, and WHEREAS, petitions have been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Edge- water, Florida to have the name of R. Lee Freeman placed on the ballot at the regular city election to be held on November 3, 1953 for the office of City Councilman from Voting District 4 of the City of Edgewater, Florida, FIORIDA: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, That the names of John H. Gibbs and George E. Lear shall be placed on the official ballot as nominees for the office of Mayor of the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida for the term of two (2) years, and the said Sohn H. Gibbs and George E. Lear are hereby declared to be duly nominated for said office to be filled at the regular city election to be held on the 3rd day of November, A. D. 1953. That the names of Frank M. Smith and Percy N. Loveland shall be placed on the official ballot as nominees for the office of City Councilmen for the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida for Voting District 1 for the term of two (2) years, and the said Frank M. Smith and Percy N. Loveland are hereby declared to be duly nominated for said office to be filled at the regular city election to be held on the 3rd day of November, A. D. 1953. That the names of Miles W. Dippery and Crawford C. Shaeffer shall be placed on the official ballot as nominees for the office of City Councilmen for the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida for Voting District 2 for the term of two (2) years, and the said Miles W. Dippery and Crawford C. Shaeffer are hereby declared to be duly nominated for said office to be filled at the regular city election to be held on the 3rd day of November, A. D. 1953. That the names of A. Hussey and George 0. Sedgwick shall be placed on the official ballot as nominees for the office of City Councilmen for the City of Edge- water, Volusia County, Florida for Voting District 3 for the term of two (2) years, and the said A. Hussey and George 0. Sedgwick are hereby declared to be duly nominated for said office to be filled at the regular city election to be held on the 3rd day of November, A. D. 1953. That the name of R. Lee Freeman shall be placed on the official ballot as nominee for the office of City Councilman for the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida for Voting District 4 for the term of two (2) years, and the said R. Lee Freeman is hereby declared to be duly nominated for said office to be filled at the regular city election to be held on the 3rd day of November, A. D. 1953. That the printing of necessary ballots will be in accordance with the ad- vice of Mr. Rodney Thursby, and there will be printed blank absentee ballots. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all resolutions or parts of resolutions in - 2 - conflict herewith be, and the same are, hereby rescinded. The above and foregoing resolution was presented by Councilman Fuller i who moved its adoption, said motion being seconded by Councilman Hussey ; and upon roll call vote the said resolution was duly declared adopted at the meeting of said Council held the 14th day of October, A.
