RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION SUGGESTING CHANGES IN THE 'ZTHOD
OF BILLING BY THE CITY OF NEW SMYRNA BEACH
FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE RENDERED TO THE RESIDENTS
OF THE CITY OF EDGEL7ATER, AND SUGGESTING STUDY
OF ELECTRICITY RATES,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEYiATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Edgewater suggests
to the City Commission of the City of New Smyrna Beach that all future
bills of electric service rendered by the City of New Smyrna Beach
to the consumers of the City of Edgewater be billed on the basis
showing the gross total charge, rather than the basic charge plus
the fuel and commodity charge shown separately. The present method
of billing has resulted in considerable confusion and complaints to
the City Council of the City of Edgewater.
Section 2: That the City Commission of the City of New Smyrna Beach
will give study to possible revision of the electricity rates charged
consumers in the City of Edgewater and elsewhere. The City Council
of the City of Edgewater has had considerable complaints that the
rates are too high, chiefly due to the fact that the Increase varies
according to volume of electricity used rather than according to a
percentage of the former rate.
Section 9: That a copy of this Resolution shall be served immediately
after its passage by delivery by Francis H. Norman, Police Chief of
the City of Edgewater, upon E. E. Hughes, City Clerk of the City of
New Smyrna Beach.
The above Resolution was read in full and passed by the vote of
the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a regular
meeting on the loth day of September, A• D. 1956. The vote of said
was on roll call as follows:
