RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NOMINEES FOR THE
OFFICE OF MAYOR OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA TO BE ELECTED AT A
SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER
22, A. D. 1959, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PREPARA_
TION AND PRINTING OF BALLOTS FOR SAID ELECTION.
WHEREAS, petitions have been filed with the City Clerk of the
City of Edgewater, Florida, to have the names of John H. Gibbs,
Crawford C. Shaeffer, Wallace F. Smith and Cecil D. Spears placed
on the ballot at the Special City Election to be held on September
22, A. D. 1959, for the office of Mayor —at —large of the City of
Edgewater, Florida,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED HY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
That the names of John H. Gibbs, Crawford Co Shaeffer, Wallace
F. Smith and Cecil D. Spears be placed on the official ballot as nominees
for the office of Mayor for the City of Edgewater, Volusia County,
Florida for the remainder of the unexpired term, andl the said John H.
Gibbs, Crawford C. Shaeffer and Wallace F. Smith and Cecil D. Spears
are hereby declared to be duly nominated for said office to be filled at
the Special City Election to be held on the 22nd day of September, A. D.
1959.
That the printing of necessary ballots will be in accordance with
the advice of Cathrine Odbpm, and there will be printed blank absentee
ballots.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all resolutions or parts of re—
solutions in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby rescinded.
The above and foregoing resolution was presented by Councilman
Farrell who moved its adoption, said motion being seconded by
Councilman Henry , and upon roll call vote the said resolution was
duly declared adopted at a Special Meeting of said Council held on the
3rd day of September, A. D. 1959, the vote of said Council on roll call
being as follows:-
