1959-37RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE SINGLE REGISTRATION SYSTEM FOR VOTING AS AUTHORIZED BY SECTION 98.091 FLORIDA STATUTES, CHAPTER 59-1%8 aND HOUSE BII.L NO. 1265 OF THE 1959 FLORIDA LEGISLATURE. WHEREAS, under authority of House Bill No. 1265 municipalities in Volusia County may adopt the permanent registration system of voters as provided by Section 98.091, Chapter 59-1948 of the Florida Statutes, and WHEREAS, such permanent registration would avoid the confusion which now exists in Edgewater, Florida where there is separate registration for municipality registration and another registration required for state and county registration; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the City Council of. the City of Edgewater, Florida, hereby expresses its desire to adopt the single registration system as authorized by House Bill No. 1265, adopted by the 1959 Florida Legislature. SECTION 2. That copies of this resolution be mailed to the Board of County Commissioners prior to October 1, 1959 so that the single registration system may become effective January 1, 1960. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby rescinded. The above and foregoing resolution was presented by Councilman Aroea who moved its adoption, said motion being seconded by Councilman Farrell and upon roll call vote the said resolution was duly declared adopted at the Regular Meeting of said Council held the 21st day of September, A.
