AND THE HOLDING OF A REGULAR ELECTION OF
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY,
FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, under the legislative Charter of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, the City Council has full power to provide regulations for
the holding of elections in the City of Edgewater, Florida, and
WHEREAS, a regular election is required to be held in the year
1957 for the purpose of electing four (4) Councilmen and a Mayor
at large to serve on the governing body of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, for the period of two years from the first Wednesday after
the first Monday in November, A. D. 1957.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the first Tuesday after the first Monday in Novem-
her, A. D. 1957, to -wit, November 5, 1957, be and the same is hereby
fixed as Regular Election Day in the City of Edgewater, Florida,
for the purpose of holding an election to designate four (4) Council-
men and a Mayor at large to serve on the governing body of the City
of Edgewater, Florida, for a period of two (2) years from the first
Wednesday after the first Monday in November, A. D. 1957, to -wit,
November 6, 1957, and an election is hereby called for on said date
in the City of Edgewater, Florida, for said purpose, and the Clerk
is hereby authorized and directed to post two (2) copies of the
notice of said election in the most conspicuous and public places
in the City of Edgewater, Florida, one of which shall be the Bulletin
Board in the City Hall of said City.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall open the registration books
of said City on such dates as will permit, of registration on each
day excepting Sunday, subsequent to the posting of the revision of
the registration book by the City Council immediately preceding the
seventh day prior to such election, and keep the same open from 9:00

to 12:00 in the forenoon and from 1:00 to 1y:30 in the aftex�noo each /

day, excepting Saturday and Sunday, until 6.00 P.M. on the seventh
day prior to such election, and at such time it shall be closed.
The above and foregoing Proclamation was introduced at a Regular
Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, held
September 16, 1957, said Proclamation being introduced by Council-

imous17 passed, the vote of said Council being as follows:
