WHEREAS, It has been brought to the attention of the City ,
Coyncil of the City of Edgewater, Florida, that therf' is a proposal
to make the Postofflce of the City of Edgewater, Volusia County,
Florida, a substation of New Smyrna Beach, Volusia County, Florida;
and,
WHEREAS, There has been a growth of the population in the City
of Edgewater, florida, of approximately one thousand persons in the
past twelve months; and,
WHEREAS, the present population of ~dgewater, Volusia County,
Florida, is approximately two thousand eight hundred persons; and,

County, florida, wishes to go on record as opposing the changing of
the Postoffice of ~dgewater, Volusla County, Florida, to a sub-
station of New Smyrna Reach, Volusla County, Florida,

SECTION 2. That conform(jld copies of tnls resolution be trans-
mitted to the proper authorities in an effort to defeat the proposed
change of the Postoffice of fdgewater, Volusia County, Florida, from
l'ecomlng a substation of the Cl.ty of New Smyrna Beach, Volusia County,
Florida.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all resolutions or parts of resolu-
tions in conflict herewith be and-the same hereby are rescinded.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, AND PROVIDING FOR THE CONR7UNI-
CATION OF THI5 RESOLUTION TO THE R20R?R AUTHORITIES.
WHEREAS, It has been brought to the attention of the City
Coljncil of the City of Edgewater, Florida, that there is a proposal
to make the Postoffice of the City of Edgewater, Volusia County,
Florida, a substation of New Smyrna Beach, Volusia County, Florida;
and,
WHEREAS, There has been a growth of the population in the City

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Volusia County, Florida, hereby objects to and wishes to go on record
as opposing the changing of the Postoffice of the City of Edgewater,
Volusia County, Florida, to a substation of New Smyrna Beach, Volusia
County, Florida.
SECTION 2. That conformed copies of this resolution be trans-
mitted to the proper authorities in an effort to d efeat the proposed
change of the Postoffice of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, from
becoming a substation of the City of New Smyrna Beach, Volusia County,
Florida.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all resolutions or parts of resolu-
tions in conflict herewith be and the same hereby are rescinded.

The above and foregoing resolution was presented by Council-
man Droga who moved its adoption, said motion being seconded
by Councilman Shaeffer and upon roll call vote, said resolution
was duly declared adopted at the regular meeting of said Council
held on the 1st day of June, 1959, the vote on said roil call of
said council being as follows:
