Proclamation 1958-9 - Special Election - 06-10-1958A PROCLAMATION PROVIDING FOR THE CALLING AND THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, under the legislative Charter of the City of Edgewater, Florida, the City Council has full power to provide regulations for the holding of elections in the City of Edgewater, Florida, and WREREAS, a Special Election has been requested to be held in the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, to determine whether or not the wishes of the people on Sunday sale of beer, wine and ale, between the hours of 12:00 o'clock noon and 12:00 o'clock midnight; alto, The granting of a franchise to Edgewater Acres Homes, Inc., a Florida corporation, to install and operate a sewage disposal system in Edgewater Acres Resubdivision, Units 1 through 6, inclusive, Volusia County, Florida, for a period of thirty years with the city having the right to retake said system at the ownerts cost at any time during the term of said franchise. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the second Tuesday after the second Monday in June, A.D. 1958 to -wit, June loth, 1958, be and the same is hereby fixed as a Special Election Day in the City of Edgewater, Florida, for the purpose of holding an election to decide the foregoing questions, and an election is hereby called for on said date in the City of Edgewater, Florida, for said purpose, and the Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to post two (2) conies of the notice of said election in the most conspicuous and public places in the City of Edgewater, Florida, one of which shall be the Bulletin Board in the City Hall of said City. SECTION 2: That the City Clerk shall open the registration books of said City on such dates as will permit registration on each day excepting Saturday and Sunday, subsequent to the posting of the revision of the registration book by the City Council immediately preceding the seventh day prior to such election, and keepthe same open from 9:00 to 12:00 in the forenoon and from 1:00 to 4:30 in the afternoon each day excepting Saturday and Sunday, until 6:00 P.M. on the seventh day prior.. to such election, and at such time it shall be closed. 195849 The above and foregoing Proclamation was introduced at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, held May 5, 1958, said Proclamation being introduced by Councilman Bross, , who moved its adoption, which said motion was seconded by Councilman Farrell and unanimously passed, the vote of said Council being as followz:- councilman Councilman t.0 Citt �Un y Clerk Approved this 5th day of May, A.
