238RESOLUTION NO. 238 " A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A COMMITTEE TO STUDY, PROMOTE AND SUPERVISE THE USE OF THE SOUTH END OF THE VOLUSIA COUNTY BOARD OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION PROPERTY UPON WHICH THE GRAMMAR SCHOOL IS LOCATED IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA AS A PLAY GROUND AND RECREATIONAL �® AREA FOR THE CHILDREN OF THE CITY OF pr EDGEWATER, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, the City Council, being desirous of providing more and better recreational facilities for the children of the City of Edgewater, Florida, and having contacted the Volusia County School Board for authority to use the south end of the school property located in Edgewater, Florida and having received authority to use the said property for a play ground and/or recreational purposes, and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that a committee should be appointed to study, promote and supervise the use of the said property. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That a committee be and the same is hereby appoint- ed, consisting of James E. Blackwell, James H. Hogan, Donald Gillespie and Eugene G. Gawriluk, to study, promote and supervise the use of the south end of the land of the property owned by the Volusia County Board of Public Instruction, and commonly referred to as the Grammar School Property, as a play ground and/or recreational area for the children of the City of Edgewater, Florida. SECTION 2. That the said committee and each and every member thereof shall serve at the will of the City Council. SECTION 3. That the said committee be and the same is hereby authorized to make reports and recommendations to the City Council regarding the proposed use of or the use of the land as a play ground and/or recreational area by the children of the City of Edgewater, Florida, provided however, that any rules or regulations pertaining to the use of the land shall have the prior approval of the City Council before being put into effect. SECTION 4. That all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby rescinded. SECTION 5. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by City Council and approval by the Mayor. The above and foregoing Resolution was presented by Councilman Oietz who moved its adoption, said motion being seconded by Councilman Dimm , and upon roll call vote, the said Resolution was duly declared adopted at a regular meeting of City Council of the City of Edgewater, held on May 20, 1968; the vote of said council upon roll call being as follows: Approved this 20th day of May A.D., 1968.
