294RESOLUTION NO. 294 A RESOLUTION URGING THE UNITED STATES CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION FROM FLORIDA TO SEEK THE CONSTRUCTION AND ESTABLISH- MENT OF A VETERANS ADMINISTRATION HOSPI IN THE SAMSULA AREA IN VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida feels that it is becoming increasingly necessary that a Veterans' Hospital be established in the Volusia County area because of the large number of retired veterans in said area, and WHEREAS, there is adequate room for such a facility in the Samsula area of Volusia County, Florida, and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to seek the aid of the United States Congressional Delegation from Florida in the establishment of such a facility. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the City Council desires to urge each member of the United States Congressional Delegation from Florida to use his best efforts in seeking and obtaining a Veterans Administration Hospital to be constructed and established in the Samsula area of Volusia County, Florida. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk be and she is hereby authorized to forward a copy of this Resolution to each member of the United States Congressional Delegation from Florida. SECTION 3. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and approval by the Mayor. The above and foregoing Resolution was presented by Councilman Ledhetter who moved its adoption, said motion being seconded by Councilman Norman , and, upon roll call vote, the said Resolution was duly declared adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida held on the 16th day of June A.D., 1969; the vote of said Council upon roll call being as follows: C J D ATTEST: a-4• i y Clerk Approved this 16th day of June A.D., 1969.
