A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A
REGULAR ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA ON
NOVEMBER 4, 1969 TO ELECT A MAYOR AND
COUNCILMEN FROM ZONES 1 AND 3; DECLARING
THE RESULTS OF A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY,
FLORIDA ON NOVEMBER 4, 1969 TO DECIDE THE
QUESTIONS OF AMENDMENT TO THE CHARGER OF
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER TO PROVIDE AN INCREASE
IN SALARY FOR THE MAYOR AND COUNCILMEN, AND
PROVIDE A METHOD OR MEANS OF ENFORCING LIENS
ACQUIRED FOR LOT CLEARANCE; AND DECLARING
THE RESULT OF A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY,
FLORIDA ON NOVEMBER 4, 1969 TO DETERMINE
THE QUESTION OF WHETHER CERTAIN LAND OWNED
BY ROSS O. SULLIVAN SHOULD BE ANNEXED INTO
THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, v
FLORIDA, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREFOR.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the following number of votes
were received by the following candidates for Mayor
in the General Election held in the City of Edgewater,
Volusia County, Florida on November 4, 1969:
FOR MAYOR
Dana T. Armstrong received +Nvvotes.
William H. Cairnie received `L9
votes.
SECTION 2. That ����isra /I, e
and he is hereby declared to be the winner for the
election of Mayor of the City of Edgewater, Florida.
SECTION 3. That the following votes were received
by the following candidates for the office of Councilman
from Zone 1 at a regular election held in the City of
Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida on November 4, 1969:
FOR COUNCILMAN ZONE 1.

and he is hereby declared to be the winner for the
election of Councilman from Zone 1 in the City of
Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida.
SECTION 5. That the following number of votes were
received by the following candidates for the office of Council-
man from Zone 3 at a regular election held in the City of
Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida on November 4, 1969:
FOR COUNCILMAN ZONE 3
James L. Budd received 317 votes.
General Fugate received votes.
SECTION 6. That Mb4 —be and he is hereby
declared to be the winner for the election of Councilman from
Zone 3 in the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida.
SECTION 7. That the following number of votes were cast
and received at a Special Election held in the City of Edge-
water, Volusia County, Florida on November 4, 1969 on the
question of amendment to the City Charter so as to approve
House Bill 1909 raising the annual salary of the Mayor from
$600.00 to $1800.00, and raising the annual salary of each
City Councilman from $300.00 to $1200.00:

SECTION 8. That it is hereby declared that House Bill
1909 raising the annual salary of the Mayor from $600.00 to
$1800.00 and raising the annual salary of each City Councilman
from $300.00 to $1200.00 be and the same is hereby (i4ppwtH)
(rejected).
SECTION 9. That the following number of votes were cast
and received at a Special Election held in the City of Edge-
water, Volusia County, Florida on November 4, 1969 on the
question of approving House Bill 1910 giving the City of Edge-
water authority to enforce by foreclosure liens acquired for
expenses incurred in cleaning and clearing of lots:
For approval 439 votes.
Against approval J97 votes.

SECTION 10. That House Bill 1910 giving the City of
Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida authority to enforce
by foreclosure liens acquired for expenses incurred for
cleaning and clearing of lots in the City of Edgewater
be and the same is hereby (approved) (3@MdMM1M.
SECTION 11. The following number of votes were cast
and received at a Special Election held in the City of Edge-
water, Volusia County, Florida on November 4, 1269 to
determine the question of whether the City of Edgewater
should annex property belonging to Ross O. Sullivan describ-
ed as that portion North of the now existing Drainage ditch
of that parcel described as follows: The South 500 feet of
Lot 6, and the South 500 feet of West half of the Northeast
quarter (East of U.S. Highway # 1), Section 2, Township 18
South, Range 34 East, and a parcel of sovereignty land now
filled lying Easterly of and abutting Government Lot 6,
Section 2, Township 18 South, Range 34;East, Volusia County,
Florida:
For approval 421--votes.
Against approval -votes.
SECTION 12. That the question of annexing the above
described real property be and the same is hereby (approved)
(mMEMM~), and the land described as:
All that portion North of the now existing Drainage
ditch of that parcel described as follows: The
South 500 feet of Lot 6 and the South 500 feet
of West half of the Northeast quarter (East of
U.S. Highway #1), Section 2, Township 18 South,
Range 34 East. Otherwise described as follows:
The South 500 feet of Lot 6 and the South 500
feet of the West half of the Northeast Quarter
(East of U.S. Highway #1,) Section 2, Township
18 South, Range 34 East, EXCEPT the South part
being 112 feet on the West line of U.S. Lot 6
and 378 feet North from the Southeast corner of
Lot 6, and riparian rights, accretions, littoral
rights, and rights of upland ownership thereto
belonging and appertaining. EXCEPT that part
conveyed to the State of Florida for use and
benefit of State Road Department of Florida,
being described as, to -wit: That part of: "The
South 500 feet of W-1/2 of the Northeast Quarter
(NE-1/4) and Lot 6 East of the highway and North
of the ditch (also described as the South 500
feet of the W-1/2 of the NE-1/4 and Lot 6 East
of the highway EXCEPT South 112 feet on the East
line and 378 feet North from the Southeast
corner), Section 2, Township 18 South, Range 34
East which lies East of and adjacent to existing
Right -of -Way of State Road 5 (U.S. #1) lying East
of and within 125 feet of the existing centerline

of State Road 5 (U.S.#1) being the West 92 feet
of the land herein described and containing 0.93
acres, more or less. AND also the following
described parcel: A parcel of sovereignty land
now filled lying Easterly of and abutting
Government Lot 6, Section 2, Township 18 South,
Range 34 East, Volusia County, Florida, more
particularly described as follows: .Commence
at the Southeast Corner of said Government Lot
6; thence North 25' 18' 40" West along the East
line of said Government Lot 6, a distance of
396.55 feet to the Point of Beginning; thence
continue North 25' 18' 40" West, a distance of
156.8 feet; thence North 64' 41' 20" East, a
distance of 209 feet; thence South 25' 18' 40"
East, a distance of 156.8 feet; thence South
64' 41' 20" West, a distance of 209 feet, more
or less, to the Point of Beginning. Containing
0.7 of an acre, more or less, with riparian
rights pertaining thereto,

the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida.
SECTION 13. That all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby rescinded.
SECTION 14. That this Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and
approval by the Mayor.
The above and foregoing Resolutibn was presented by
Councilman Norman who moved its adoption, said motion
being seconded by Councilman Dimm , and, upon roll -call
vote, the said Resolution was duly declared adopted at a special
meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida
held on the 5th day of November A.D., 1969; the vote of said
Council upon roll call being as follows:
