A RESOLUTION HIRING JEROME C. WALKER
AS CHIEF OF POLICE FOR THE CITY OF A
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, SETTING HIS TENURE
AND HIS COMPENSATION, SETTING FORTH
THE CONDITION OF HIS CONTINUED EMPLOY-
MENT, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, IDA:
SECTION 1. That Jerome C. Walker be and he is hereby hired
and employed as Chief of Police for the City of Edgewater, Florida,
subject to State approval and he to serve as same at the will of
the City Council. The said Jerome C. Walker, as Chief of Police
for the City of Edgewater, Florida, be and he is hereby authorized
to do and perform all acts as set forth and prescribed by the laws
of the State of Florida and the Charter and Ordinances of the
City of Edgewater, Florida.
SECTION 2. That the said Jerome C. Walker shall be paid as
compensation, as Chief of Police for the City of Edgewater,
Florida, the sum of Five Hundred Fifty ($550.00) Dollars per month
effective August 1, 1971 for a probation period of three (3) months
at which time the rate of compensation shall be increased to
Six Hundred ($600.00) Dollars per month.
SECTION 3. That the condition of the continued employment
of the said Jerome C. Walker as Chief of Police is that he establish
residence in the City of Edgewater, Florida at the end of his
probation period of ninety (90) days.
SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall be effective as of
August 1, 1971.
SECTION 5. That all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby rescinded.
SECTION 6. That this Resolution shall take effect immediate-
ly upon its adoption by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
The above and foregoing Resolution was presented by Council-
man Fugate who moved its adoption, said motion being
seconded by Councilman Wiggins , and upon roll call vote,

said Resolution was duly declared adopted at a regular meeting of
City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida held on August 2, 1971;
the vote of said Council upon roll call being as follows:
