RESOLUTION NO. 427
A RESOLUTION URGING THE GOVERNOR OF
THE STATE OF FLORIDA, AND THE FLORIDA
LEGISLATURE TO RETURN FIFTY PER CENT
OF THE CORPORATE PROFITS TAX TO CITIES
AND COUNTIES BASED ON THE POINT OF
COLLECTION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK
TO TRANSMIT COPIES OF THIS RESOLUTION
TO THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA
AND TO EACH MEMBER OF THE LEGISLATIVE
DELEGATION FROM VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA
AND TO THE FLORIDA LEAGUE OF CITIES,
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREFOR.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edgewater, ®�®
Florida feels that local governments in Florida are in
need of financial relief from the Governor of the State
of Florida and from the Florida Legislature.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the Governor of the State of Florida
and the Florida Legislature is hereby urged to return 50%
of the corporate profits tax to the cities and counties of
Florida based on the point of collection.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk be and she is hereby
authorized to transmit copies of this Resolution to the
Governor of the State of Florida, to each member of the
Legislative Delegation from Volusia County, Florida, and
to the Florida League of Cities.
SECTION 3. That all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby rescinded.
SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and
approval by the Mayor.
The above and foregoing Resolution was presented by
Councilman Crigger who moved its adoption, said motion
being seconded by Councilman Ganta , and, upon roll
call vote, the said Resolution was duly declared adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Edge-
water, Florida held on the 6th day of December A.D., 1971;
