A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CANDIDATES FOR THE
OFFICE OF COUNCILMAN FROM ZONE 1 AND THE
CANDIDATES FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR TO BE NOMINATED
AT A PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE 23RD DAY OF
OCTOBER, 1973 AND DECLARING THE CANDIDATES AND
NOMINATION OF A COUNCILMAN FROM ZONES 1 AND 3 AND
DECLARING THE CANDIDATES AND NOMINATIONS FOR MAYOR
TO BE VOTED UPON CITY WIDE AND PROVIDING FOR THE PREPARATION
AND PRINTING OF BALLOTS FOR SAID ELECTION; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR.
W HE REAS , Petitions have been filed with the City Clerk of the
City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida to have the names of JACOB LODICO,
CHARLES I. McINTIRE and LOUIS J. ROTUNDA placed on the ballot as
candidates for Councilman from Zone 1; and the name of DAVID C. SEVERANCE
placed on the ballot as candidate for Councilman from Zone 3; and the names
of HOWARD BUCHANAN, WILLIAM H. CAIRN and GEORGE M. DIMM placed on
the ballot as candidates for the office of Mayor; and it appearing that a
Primary Election will be necessary to declare candidates for Councilman from
Zone 1 and the office of Mayor.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the names of JACOB LODICO, CHARLES I. McINTIRE,
and LOUIS J. ROTUNDA be placed on the official ballot as candidates to be
voted upon at a Primary Election to be held October 23, 1973, as Councilman
from Zone 1. That the names of HOWARD BUCHANAN, WILLIAM H. CAIRNE
and GEORGE M. DIMM be placed on the official ballot as candidates to be
voted upon at a Primary Election to be held October 23, 1973, as Mayor.
SECTION 2. That the election for each office shall be voted upon a
city wide basis.
SECTION 3. That the names of the two candidates receiving the largest
number of votes for the office of Councilman from Zone 1 and the office of
Mayor and the name of DAVID C. SEVERANCE, candidate for the office of councilman
from Zone 3 shall be placed on the ballot for the regular election to be held on

November 6, 1973 as provided by local election laws.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk be and she is hereby authorized and
directed to forthwith transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Supervisor -
Director of the Department of Elections for Volusid County, Florida and
that the printing of necessary ballots will be in accordance with the
instructions of said Supervisor Director of the Department of Elections
for Volusia County, Florida, and there will be printed absentee ballots.
SECTION 5. That all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby rescinded.
SECTION 6. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its passage and approval by the Mayor.
The foregoing Resolution was presented by Councilman Bevel
who moved its adoption, said motion being seconded by Councilman
Crigger , Upon roll call vote said Resolution was duly
declared adopted at a 41A� meeting of the City Council
held on the `� k day of �� A.D. 1973; the vote of
said Council upon roll call being as follows:
