536RESOLUTION NO. 538 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A MILLAGE RATE. IN EXCESS OF THE CERTIFIED MILLAGE REPORTED BY THE ASSESSOR OF VOL1151A COUNTY, FLORIDA AND PROVIDING AN ,ty EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFOR. /7 WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater has deemed an increase in the millage rate necessary in order to produce more revenue for the City for the purpose of carrying out various municipal programs to a greater extent than has been accomplished in previous years for the betterment of the City of Edgewater and its citizens. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT E"CTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That a levy upon the assessment rolls of the 1974 taxes for the fiscal year beginning on the 1st day of October, 1974 at a rate of 5.50 mills per each dollar of the assessed valuation is hereby authorized and directed. Said $5.50 per thousand dollar of assessed valuation being in ex- cess of the certified millage reported by the Assessor of Volusia County, Florida, said certified millage being $4.687 per thousand dollar assessed valuation. Thereby an increase in the millage rate of .813 mills per dollar of assessed valuation is hereby authorized and directed. SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Assessor of Volusia County, Florida upon its adoption. SECTION 3. That all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby rescinded. SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. .S3 6 The foregoing Resolution was presented by Councilman Sikes , who moved its adoption, said motion being seconded by Councilman Clinton Upon roll call vote the said Resolution was duly declared adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 16tk day of September, A.D. 1974.
