732RESOLUTION NO. 73a A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER ADOPTING AND APPROVING ALTERNATIVES AN RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE 201 FACILITIES PLAN FOR SOUTH COASTAL VOLUSIA COUNTY; REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater, Florida, has instituted wastewater programs to abate water pollution and to provide persons in Edgewater, Florida with proper wastewater treatment facilities; and WHEREAS, in an effort to continue these programs, the City of New Smyrna Beach on behalf of South Coastal Volusia County has submitted a 201 facilities Plan grant application to the Enviromental Protection Agency as designated under Section 201 of the Amendments of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act of 1972; and WHEREAS, the Federal Enviromental Protection Agency has made a grant offer to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, for the completion of the 201 Facilities Plan based upon the grant application and identified as Enviromental Protection Agency 201 Facilities Plan Grant No. C 120619010; and WHEREAS, Briley Wild and Associates presented to the Council of the City of Edgewater the alternative analysis and selected plan for the 201 Facilities Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida hereby requests that the selected plan set forth in the 201 Facilities Plan for two treatment facilities and two service areas utilizing nitrification and river discharge as the disposal method being the most cost effective and viable alternative for wastewater treatment and disposal to meet the necessary water quality standards in the 201 Planning Area at this time is hereby adopted and approved. Section 2. That the Clerk of the City of Edgewater is hereby authorized and directed to send a copy of this Resolution to the Florida Department of Enviromental 17ja C Regulation and the Federal Enviromental Protection Agency. Section 3. That all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby rescinded. Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and approval as provided by law.
