814RESOLUTION NO. — A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA TO REESTABLISH MUNICIPAL COURTS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That the City of Edgewater, Florida hereby resolves that Article V, Section 20 of the Constitution of the State of Florida which was amended January 1, 1973 at 11:59 P.M., E.S.T., has demonstrated an adverse impact on the judicial system. SECTION 2. That the reestablishment of Municipal Courts, under specified minimum standards, would correct this adverse impact. SECTION 3. That legislation is necessary to protect municipal revenues received from violations of city ordinances and uniform traffic control laws. SECTION 4. That in view of the serious problems of public safety administration created by the abolition of the municipal courts, legislation should be established and maintained that will provide authority to local governments to secure enforcement, prosecution and adjudication of municipal ordinances and traffic control laws. SECTION 5. That municipal courts shall continue with their same jurisdiction in the manner prescribed by special or general law or ordinances. SECTION 6. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council and approval as provided by law. n This Resolution was read in full and passed by a vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida at a regular meeting of said Council held on the day of �_, 1978, and approved as provided by law.
