A RESOLUTION PROPOSING TO INCORPORATE
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
VOLUSIA COUNTY FLORIDA.
W HER EA S, a petition has been filed with the City of Edgewater, Volusia County,
Florida, pursuant to Chapter 27532, Laws of the State of Florida, Special Acts
of 1951, as amended by the Legislature of the State of Florida, Acts of 1957,
signed by more than two thirds of the land owners representing two thirds of the
territory to be incorporated and made a part of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
and which is contiguous thereto and described as follows, to -wit:
The Southwest one quarter of the Northeast one quarter and
9.785 acres described as follows: Beginning at an iron pin
on the Southeast corner of the Northwest one quarter of the
Northeast one quarter and running West a distance of 1320
feet to a corner; thence North a distance of 83feet to a corner;
thence Northeast a distance of 1145.7 feet to a corner on the
Westerly side of the State Road; thence Southeast along the
State Road a distance of 618.4 feet to a corner; thence South
a distance of 24.3 feet to a point of beginning. All of the
above being located in Section 2, Township 18 South, Range
34 East, in Volusia County, Florida, and commonly known
as "Silver Ridge Development. "
AND WHEREAS, such proposed annexation must be approved by a majority
of qualified electors of the City of Edgewater, Florida; and
W HE R EA S, it is the desire of all concerned that this matter be on the ballot
of the forthcoming election (general)to be held on November 3, 1964;
N O W, T H E R E F O R E, Be it resolved that the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida, hereby favors such proposed annexation and directs the
City Clerk of said City to make the necessary publication of notice concerning
said, proposed annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Supervisor of Registration,
Katherine S. Odham, be authorized and directed to place the question of said
annexation upon the voting machines of Edgewater, Florida, and such shall be

phrased as follows: "Are you in favor of annexation of that certain area known
as Silver Ridge Development?"
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions
in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby rescinded.
The above and foregoing Resolution was presented by Councilman Silver
who moved its adoption, said motion being seconded by Councilman Cairnie
and upon roll call vote, the said Resolution was duly declared adopted at the
regular meeting of said Council held on the 21st day of September, 1964, the
vote of said Council on roll call being as follows:
