RESOLUTION NO. 118
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ACTION OF THE
CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, ZONING AND
PLANNING BOARD, TAKEN AT A PUBLIC HEARING
HELD APRIL 14TH, 1966
WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater, Florida, Zoning and Planning
Board, held a public hearing on April 14th, 1966 to consider a
variance in zoning request of Mrs. Charles Teasley, of 114 E. Thomas St.
Edgewater, Florida:
AND WHEREAS, the Zoning and Planninq Board of the City
of Edgewater, Florida, recommended that said variance be granted;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Edgewater, Florida, that the recommendations of the Zoning
and Planning Board of the City of Edgewater, Florida, in regard to
the zoning variance request of Mrs. Charles Teasley, of 114 E.
Thomas St., Edgewater, Florida, be approved, and said zoning variance
is hereby granted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the recommendations of the
Zoning and Planning Board attached hereto becomes a part of this
Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all resolutions or parts of
resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby
rescinded.
The above and foregoing resolution was presented by Councilman
Walls who moved its adoption, said motion being
seconded by Councilman Ca i rn i e and upon roll call
vote, the said resolution was duly declared adopted at the recessed
meeting of said Council held on the 28th day of April, A.D. 1966,
the vote of said Council on roll call being as follows:

In reference to the application of Mrs. Charles
Teasley requesting rezoning from residential to commercial
that property now zoned residential, legal description
of which is attached, a Public Hearing was held Thursday,
April 14th, 1966 at 8:00 P.M. in the Mayor's Office
in Edgewater City Hall with four members of the Edgewater
Zoning and Planning Board present.
All property owners within 300 feet of the area
under consideration that were present at the Hearing
were given an opportunity to be heard. All communications
received in regard to this application were read aloud
and given consideration,
Your Zoning and Planning Board, in complete
accord, does recommend that the variance requested by
Mrs. Charles Teasley be granted for the purpose mentioned
in the application but under no circumstances to include
pets or animals of any kind.

Cd he second variance request to be considered was from Mrs. Charles
,easley, Thomas St., Edgewater, Fla. The variance was requested
to permit her to have a beauty shop by appointment in her garage.
The legal description of her property was as follows: !
Lots 1 - 2 - 3 and the North 5 feet of
Lot 4, Blk. 4, Totem Park, Map Book 4,
Page 46, Public Records of Volusia County
Florida
Lilian Straub and Donald Mason, Real Estate Brokers in the City,
objected to the variance. (Miss Straub and Mr. Mason do not live
within 300 feet of the above property) They said there is
commercial property in the City and the people would lose faith
in the Real Estate Brokers if they find someone opening up a
Commercial Business in a Residential Section of town. People
pay good money for commercial property and would object to this.
Motion duly made and seconded, the board adjourn and discuss
this further and make decision.
Motion duly made by Mr. Loveland, seconded by Mr. Mosher,
that the request of Ellen T. Cook for a variance be denied
and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote of those present
(as unanimous.
Motion duly made by Mr. Mosher, seconded by Mr. Loveland
the request for variance by Mrs. Charles Teasley be granted
with reservations, and by vote CARRIED. The roll call vote of
those present was unanimous.
