120RESOLUTION NO. 120
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE ROAD DEPARTMENT,
STATE OF FLORIDA, TO SHORTEN THE MEDIAN ISLAND
LOCATED AT U. S. NUMBER 1 (STATE ROAD NUMBER 5)
AND PEARL STREET IN THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the median island located at U. S. Number 1 (State Road
Number 5) and Pearl Street in the City of Edgewater, Florida
extends past and southward of an imaginary line, said imaginary
line being an extension of the south parallel line of Pearl
Street so that north bound traffic from Pearl Street is obstructed
from turning directly northward from Pearl Street by said median
island, and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that between 40 and 50 cars per day
travel eastward on said Pearl Street desiring to turn northward,
and
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council
that it is inconvenient as well as hazardous for a vehicle traveling
eastward on Pearl Street and desiring to turn northward on U. S.
Number 1 to have to first turn southward on U. S. Number 1 and
then make a "U" turn in order to get in the north bound lane of
U. S. Number 11 and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edgewater is desirous of
alleviating the said inconvenient and hazardous condition,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida that the State Road Department of the State of
Florida be requested to shorten the said median island so as to
permit vehicles to turn directly northward from the said Pearl
Street.
The above and foregoing resolution was presented by Councilman
Walls who moved its adoption; said motion being
seconded by Councilman aehhinarnn Upon roll call said
resolution was duly declared adopted at a meeting of said

City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida held on the
2nd day of May 1966. The vote of said City Council on said
roll call being as follows:
