A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 123
SO AS TO AUTHORIZE AND INSTRUCT THE MAYOR OR
THE ACTING MAYOR, AND THE CITY CLERK, TO EXECUTE
A CONTRACT TENDERED TO THE CITY OF EDGEWATER
BY THE FLORIDA LIBRARY AND HISTORICAL COMMISSION,
SAID CONTRACT BEING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
FLORIDA LIBRARY AND HISTORICAL COMMISSION, THE
CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AND THE EDGEWATER
LIBRARY BOARD, SAID CONTRACT PROVIDING FOR THE
JOINT PARTICIPATION OF THE FLORIDA LIBRARY AND
HISTORICAL COMMISSION, THE CITY OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA, AND THE EDGEWATER LIBRARY BOARD IN THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, A Certain contract has been tendered to the City of
Edgewater by the State of Florida, by and through the Library
and Historical Commission, by the terms of which the Library
and Historical Commission will provide funds in the amount of
$12,650 for the construction of a new public library for
Edgewater, Florida, upon the condition that the City of
Edgewater provide funds for the same purpose in the amount of
$10,350, and
WHEREAS, It has been certified by the City Clerk pursuant to
Section 63 of the Charter Laws of the City of Edgewater, Florida
that the money required for said contract or agreement is in the
depository to the credit of the fund from which it is to be
drawn, and not appropriated for any other purpose, and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 123 was passed at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida held on
May 16, 1966 authorizing and instructing the Mayor and CityClerk
to execute said contract and further authorizing the Mayor and
the City Clerk and instructing and empowering them to execute any
and all checks, drafts, or other instruments necessary to consunpijfe
and comply with the terms of the said agreement, and
WHEREAS, the said Mayor has since the time said Resolution No. 123
was passed, refused and/or neglected to execute the said agreement,

and
WHEREAS, it is felt by the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida that a new library is needed for the City of Edgewater,
Florida and that it is to the best interest of the general public
and in the best interest of .the public welfare that the library
be constructed and that the City of Edgewater, Florida participate
in the construction of said public library.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida that either the Mayor or'the Acting Mayor
execute the said agreement and the Mayor or the Acting Mayor and
theCity Clerk are hereby fully authorized and instructed to
execute said agreement and the said Mayor Abethe Acting Mayor and
the City Clerk are further authorized add instructed and empowered
to execute any and all checks, drafts, or other instruments
necessary to consummate and comply with the terms of the said
agreement.
The above and foregoing Resolution was presented by Councilman
Walls who moved its adoption; said motion being
seconded by Councilman Oebbington Upon roll call
said resolution was duly declared adopted at a special meeting
of said Council held on May 19, 1966. The vote of said Council
upon said roll call being
