134RESOLUTION NO. 13
A RESOLUTION RESETTING DATE OF THE SPECIAL CITY
ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, HERETOFORE SET FOR
AUGUST 23, 1966.
WHEREAS, by proclamation adopted by the City Council of Edgewater,
Florida on June 28, 1966 the said City Council designated August
23, 1966 as the date upon which a special city election would be
held for the purpose of filling the unexpired term of Mayor of the
City of Edgewater, Florida and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida did
cause to be published an erroneous date as the deadline for the
filing with the City Clerk of petitions of the candidates for the
office of Mayor, and
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the said City Council
that the information was erroneous and misleading, and
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the said City Council
that said erroneous information was relied upon by at least one
candidate for the office of Mayor, to his detriment, and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida to be as fair as possible to all candidates
interested in running for the office of Mayor of the City of
Edgewater, Florida to fill the presently existing unexpired term
of Mayor.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
1. That that certain proclamation providing for the calling and
holding of a special election and a primary election, if necessary,
in the City of Edgewater, Volusia County, Florida, said special
election to be held August 23, 1966 be and the same is hereby
rescinded.
2. Be it further resolved by the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida that all petitions heretofore filed by any
and all candidates for the office of Mayor of the City of

Edgewater, Florida be and the same are hereby rejected.
3. Be it further resolved by the City Council of the City of
Edgewater, Florida that a new date be set for the holding of a
special city election to fill the unexpired term of the office
of Mayor of the City of Edgewater.

IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE AND THE SAME ARE HEREBY RESCINDED.
The above and foregoing resolution was presented by Councilman
Walls who moved its adoption, said motion being
seconded by Councilman Bebbinaten , and upon roll
call vote said resolution was duly declared adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of Edgewater, Florida held on the 18th
day of July A. D., 1966, the vote of said Council upon roll call
being taken as follows: ,^
