84-O-20ORDINANCE NO. 84-0-20 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AMENDING ARTICLE VII, SECTION 700.01, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, BY REVISING THE REQUIRED OFF-STREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION; A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Board of the City of Edgewater, Florida, has reviewed Article VII, Supplementary Regulations, Section 700.01, Required Off -Street Parking, of the Edgewater Code of Ordinances at its May 8, 1984 and September 26, 1984 public meetings and has recommended amendments to Sections (a), (d), (d)(1), (d)(2), and (e) as provided therein, and WHEREAS, the Edgewater City Council considered these recommendations at their May 21, 1984 and October 1, 1984 Council Meetings and authorized the City Attorney to draw up an ordinance on the subject; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. (d) (4) Parking shall be arranged so as to eliminate the necessity of backing into any street or thoroughfare, excluding duplexes and single family residences. (d)(1) Have access to a street or alley with a minimum width of nine (9) feet for access way serving residential uses and a minimum width of twelve-42) twenty (20) feet for double access ways and-twenty-(29)- twelve (12) feet for single. access ways serving multi -family or non-residential areas; (d)(2) Be -graded. Have a permanently hard surfaced area; (e) Duplex and multi -family - One-and-ene-half Two (2) parking spaces on the same lot for each dwelling unit. *Deleted items have been lined-£hneagh and new language underscored. (e) - continued... Coin Laundries - One (1) parking space per two (2) washing machines plus one (1) parking space per employee. Office building, banks and-sfmtlae-insti-tusiens One (1) parking space for each 200 square feet of gross floor area. Banks and Similar Institutions - Three (3) arkin spaces per teller, Plus one 1 parking space per 200 square feet of gross floor area, l�us one parking space per employee on the largest shift. Restaurants and Lounges - One parking space for each 4kcee44) four (4) seats, plus one (1) parking s ace for each bar stool, plus one 1 parking space for each two (2) employees on the largest shift. SECTION 2. All ordinances, or parts of ordinances and all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. If any section, part of a section, paragraph, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, and approval as provided by law.
