ORDINANCE NO. 86-0-15
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 6, BOATS,
DOCKS AND .WATERWAYS, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, BY REGULATING THE
MOORING OF WATERCRAFT VESSELS ON CITY OWNED
WATERFRONT PROPERTY; CONTAINING A REPEALER
PROVISION, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, at their regular meeting of June 2, 1986, accepted the
recommendation of the Planning Assistant, and directed the
City Attorney to prepare an Ordinance on the subject.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA.
SECTION 1. That Chapter 6, Sections 6.2 (a) and 6.2 (b)
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
be amended as follows:"'
CHAPTER 6 - BOATS, DOCKS AND WATERWAYS
Section 6.2 - Mooring to bulkhead or leaving sunken
vessel at park and pier recreation area.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to moor or
tie any boat or floating vessel of any type to
the bulkhead or seawall surrounding the park
and pier and recreation area directly across
from city hall or any other city owned water-
front property.
(b) It shall also be unlawful for any person to
allow a boat or other vessel to remain in a
sunken condition next to or adjacent to the
park and pier and recreation area across from
the city hall or any other city owned water-
front orooerty.
SECTION 2. That Chapter 6, Section 6.4 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Edgewater, Florida, be amended as
follows:
CHAPTER 6 - BOATS, DOCKS AND WATERWAYS
Section 6.4 - Same -Storing or leaving watercraft
prohibited.
The storing of or leaving of any boat or other water-
craft unattended in or upon the shore of any lake,
canal ditch, or body of water in Florida Shores
or anyy other city owned waterfront property is

SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances and all
resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and
the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 9. If any section, part of a section, paragraph,
clause, phrase or word of this ordinance is declared invalid,
the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, and approval as provided by law.

This ordinance was read on first reading and passed by a
vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, at a
regular meeting of the City Council held on the
16th day of June , 1986, and approved as provided
by law.
The second reading of this ordinance to be at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
to be held on the 7th day of July , 1986.
