AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA AMENDING CHAPTER 7, ARTICLE II,
SECTION 107.4 (a) and (b)(1),(2),(3),and (4); ARTICLE
III, SECTION 7-65; ARTICLE VI, SECTION 7-154; ARTICLE
VII, SECTION 7-236; APPENDIX A, ZONING, SECTIONS
715.05, 1000.01, 1001.01, 1002.01 AND APPENDIX B,
SUBDIVISIONS ARTICLE VII, E(2) OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, BY
INCREASING MINIMUM FEES FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL
PERMITS IN ACCORDANCE WITH VOLUSIA COUNTY FEE SCHEDULE
AND THE SOUTHERN BUILDING COMMERCIAL SCHEDULE; BY
INCREASING THE ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEES; MECHANICAL
PERMIT FEES; PLUMBING PERMIT FEES; ZONING APPLICATION
FEES; SPECIAL EXCEPTION AND VARIANCE FEES AND
SUBDIVISION PRELIMINARY PLAT FEES; CONTAINING A
REPEALER PROVISION, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND PRO-
VIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to a recommendation from the Building
official, the City Council authorized the recommended increases
in building valuations and fees and planning fees and directed
the City Attorney to prepare an Ordinance on the subject.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 7, Article II, Section 107.4 (a)
(b), Residential, (1), (2), (3), and (4), Commercial (1), (2),
and (3), of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, be amended as follows:*

ARTICLE II, BUILDING CODE
Section 107.4
(a) Minimum. The minimum fee required for the issuance of
any building permit shall be five ten dollars E$57963
($10.00).
(b) Schedules. Permit fees for residential and commercial
buildings shall be based on cost per square foot in accordance
with the following schedules:
RESIDENTIAL:
Ehl hiving area-416799 per square feet
E93 Garage area-47-BB per square feet
E33 PerehesT patios and earperts-44799 per square feet
E43 Sereened perehes--$5-B9 per square feet

(6) Fireplace--$1500.00 value
(7) Second bath--$1,000.00 value
(8) Utility sheds-$5.00 per square foot
(9) Fences-$2.50 per linear ft. or fencing contractor's
contract price
(10) Re-roofing-$1.35 per square foot of area covered or
roofing contractor's contract price
(11) Mechanical valuations-$1.50 per square foot of con-
ditioned area
(12) Pools-$3.00 for each $1000.00 value up to $15,000.00
and values from $15,000.00 and up, $45.00 for
first $15 000.00 and $2.00 each additional $1,000.00.
Permit fees shall be charged in accordance with the current
Volusia County Building Permit Fee schedule, which is based
on total valuation of building or structure.

Commercial valuations shall be as per the latest issued
building valuation data and applicable Florida Modifier
contained in Southern Building as published by the Southern
Building Code Congress International, Inc.
Permit fees shall be charged in accordance with the current
Volusia County Building Permit Fee schedule, which is based
on total valuation of building or structure.

SECTION 2. That Chapter 7, Article III, Section 7-65,
Same -Fees, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Edgewater, be
amended as follows:*

Section 7-65 Same -Fees
Before a permit is issued for any electrical work or
installation for which a permit is required, fees in accordance
with the table below shall be paid to the electrical inspector,
who shall give a receipt therefor and deposit all fees collected
by him with the proper authority. No permit shall be issued for
less than five E$5-BBi fifteen ($15.00) dollars.

SECTION 3. That Chapter 7, Article VI, Section 7-154,
Permit Fees, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Edgewater,
be amended as follows:*

Section 7-154. Permit fees
The building official shall, prior to issuing any mechanical
permits within the city, obtain from the applicant for such
permit, a fee for the privilege of the receipt of such permit and
the fee shall be in accordance with the following schedule:

Fee Schedule, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Edgewater,
be amended as follows:*

Section 7-236. Fee schedule
Before a permit is issued for any plumbing, sewer or
drainage work or installation for which a permit is required, a
fee or fees, in accordance with the table below, shall be paid to
the plumbing inspector, who shall give a receipt therefor and

shall deposit all fees collected by him with the proper
authority.
No permit shall be issued nor reinepeetion made for less
than five E$5-99+ ten $10.00) dollars.

SECTION 5. That Appendix A, Zoning, Section 715.05 of the
Code of Ordinances of the City if Edgewater, be amended as
follows:*

ARTICLE VII. SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS
Section 715.05 Applications.
All applications to the zoning and planning board for
rezoning or site plan approval shall be on forms prescribed by
the city and subscribed to under oath. Site plans required under
this section shall bear the seal of a registered engineer when
required by state law. All applications shall be accompanied by
a fee of one hundred ($100.00) for site plan and one hundred and
f i f t y ($ 1 5 0. 0 0) d o l l a r s f o r r e z o n i n g.
SECTION 6. That Appendix A, Zoning, Sections 1000.01,
1001.01, and 1002.01 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Edgewater, be amended as follows:*

Section 1000.01 Application Forms
All appeals

by the board
and mailed to
the enforcement
official. In addition, the appeal application shall be
accompanied by a filing fee of fifty E$Se-Be3 seventy-five
($75.00) dollars.
Section 1001.01 Application Forms
Applications for a special exception as provided in this
ordinance shall be signed by the applicant on forms prescribed by

the board of adjustment, and mailed to the enforcement official.
In addition, the application shall be accompanied by a filing fee
of fifty f$5e79ei seventy-five ($75.00) dollars.
Section 1002.01 Application Forms
Applications for variances from the terms of this ordinance
shall be signed by the applicant, on forms prescribed by the
board of adjustment, and mailed to the enforcement official. In
addition, the application shall be accompanied by a filing fee of
fifty E$59-9B4 seventy-five ($75.00) dollars for residential
or less than one (1) block, and ass hundred E$iee,eB+ one
hundred and seventy-five ($175.00) dollars for all over one (1)
block.
SECTION 7. That Appendix B, Subdivisions, Article VII, E
(2) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
be amended as follows:*

ARTICLE VII, PROCEDURE FOR SUBDIVISION APPROVAL
(E) Preliminary Plat Procedure
(2) Fees. At the time of submission of the preliminary
plat, the subdivider shall pay to the city clerk a fee of sixty
E$6e79e} seventy-five ($75.00)er and one dollar ($1.00) per
lot,whiehever is greateri for the purpose of administration
and for holding a public hearing on the preliminary plat.
SECTION 8. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances and
all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith, be
and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 9. If any section, part of a section, paragraph,
clause, phrase or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the
remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
SECTION 10. This ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, and approval as provided by law.
