AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 10, ARTICLE
III, SECTION 10-66 "DEFINITION OF ABANDONED, JUNKED
OR DISCARDED MOTOR VEHICLES" BY REDEFINING THE
DEFINITION OF ABANDONED, JUNKED OR DISCARDED MOTOR
VEHICLES; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION, A SEVERA-
BILITY CLAUSE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Safety Inspector/Assistant Code Enforcement
Officer of the City of Edgewater, Florida, has recommended changes
to Chapter 10, Article III, Section 10-66 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. Section 10-66, Definition of Abandoned, Junked
or Discarded Motor Vehicles, of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Edgewater, be amended as follows: *

(a) As used in this section, an abandoned, junked or discarded
motor vehicle shall mean any motor vehicle, trailer or semitrailer:
(1) which is not in operating condition; or
(2) which for a period of thirty (30) days or longer has
been partially or totally disassembled by the removal of tires and
wheels, the engine or other essential parts required for operation
of the vehicle; or
(3) on which there are displayed neither valid license
plates nor a valid inspection decal; or
(4) which is partially dismantled or wrecked and which
cannot safely or legally be operated.

SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances and
all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith, be
and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. If any section, part of a section, paragraph,
clause, phrase or word of this ordinance is declared invalid, the
remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be affected.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, and approval as provided by law.

This Ordinance was read on first reading and passed by a
vote of the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, and
approval as provided by law, at a regular meeting of said Council
on the 16th day of March , 1987.
The second reading of this ordinance to be at a meeting of
the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida, to be held on
the 6th day of April , 1987.
