A. NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF SITE (Use back of page and
continuations)
This site is conprised of a peninsular located in the southeast corner of
the project area. Limited testing indicates that much of the peninsular is
underlaid by a shell midden deposit. Shovel tests indicated the shell midden ranges
in thickness from 74 to 85 cm. Clam is the predominant species (apprx. 95 %).
St. Johns Plain ceramics were indentified and recovered. _ Faunal fragments and
charcoal were recovered suggesting possible subsistence and settlement pattern
information may exist.
