Whereas Volusia County ("County") has adopted a home rule charter and it is necessary for the
City Council of the City of Edgewater("City")to obtain delegation of the powers conferred upon
the County by the Community Redevelopment Act, so that the City may exercise the authority
and powers conferred by such act within the Community Redevelopment Area in the City.
As required by Section 163.346, Florida Statutes, and by the direction of the City Council, notice
is hereby given of proposed action to adopt a resolution (1) in accordance with Section 163.355,
Florida Statutes, on finding the existence of blight in an area of the City of Edgewater, and
further finding that the rehabilitation, conservation, or redevelopment, or combination thereof, of
such area is necessary in the interest of public health, safety, morals or welfare of the residents of
the City of Edgewater; and (2) in accordance with 163.410, Florida Statutes, seeking approval
from Volusia County that the blighted area meets the criteria described in Chapter 163, Part III,
Florida Statutes, requesting delegation of authority to create a Community Redevelopment Area
and Community Redevelopment Agency, adopt the Community Redevelopment Plan and

A public hearing will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers,
104 N. Riverside Drive, Edgewater FL 32132, for the purpose of receiving public comment on
such proposed actions by the City Council. The City Council may continue the public hearing to
other dates and times as it deems necessary. Any interested party shall be advised that the dates,
times and places of any continuation of this or continued public hearings shall be announced
during the hearing and that no further notices regarding these matters will be published.
A copy of the proposed Resolution, Finding of Necessity Report and Community
Redevelopment Plan may be inspected at the City Clerk's Office, 104 N. Riverside Drive,
Edgewater FL 32132, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday,
except legal holidays. Interested parties may appear at the meeting and be heard with respect to
the proposed Resolution. Any person who desires to appeal any decision made during the public
hearing will need a record of the proceedings and for this purpose may need to ensure a verbatim
record of the proceedings is made which includes testimony and evidence upon which the appeal
is based. Persons with disabilities needing assistance to participate in any of the proceedings
should contact the City Clerk's Office 48 hours in advance of the meeting at (386) 424-2400 ext.

The City has also provided public notice pursuant to Section 166.041(3)(a), Florida Statutes, of
the foregoing actions. This extraordinary notice has been given to all affected taxing authorities
